Great Start Readiness Program

CAAM Early Childhood Education Component also provides a preschool program funded through MiLEAP, Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential. The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s free PreK Program for eligible four-year-olds. A quality pre-kindergarten (PreK) experience sets your child up for success. GSRP will help make sure your child is ready for kindergarten and beyond. We serve GSRP children in Marquette, Ishpeming and Gwinn.

Child must be at least 4 years old by December 1 of the year they apply.

Services that are provided are:

• Parent involvement

• Adult-child interaction

• Active learning

• Comprehensive developmental screenings

• Nutritional snacks

• Developmentally appropriate curriculum

• Kindergarten readiness and transition activities
